3 Summer Outfits

I created three inspiration outfits for the summer. I made them for more of a put together vibe. I used dresses for all three because they are my personal favorite summer clothing item. I think these outfits or outfits that are similar would be perfect for events, graduations, parties, and nice dinners. I personally am going to use them to inspire outfits for a summer vacation. Enjoy!
Outfit 1: A simple skater dress with contrasting heels really creates a cool fashion forward vibe. The black purse tones it down, and the bracelets can make it more casual for a more casual event.

Outfit 2: The body con dress is made appropriate because of the cool pattern. It can be used for a nice dinner, or also for a night out. The white sandals add a more casual feel over big high heels. The clutch can also be used for night and day.

Outfit 3: My personal favorite because it's similar to my style. It's the most laid back of the three but it's still put together. The black oxfords are a versatile piece and they make a cute addition to this outfit.

Eyes on the prize

Another fashion week trend I'm living for is bold eyeshadow. One bright wash of color all over the eyelid can really make a statement and really make someone look fashion forward. Whether it's one color or a monochromatic couple of colors, I really think bold eyes are what's in right now. Various designers such as: Chanel, Nina Ricci, Dior, Lanvin, and Kenzo are sporting this look in their shows. The following looks are mostly from Paris fashion week.

DIY: Hair Mask

Healthy hair is always in. In the post below I will show you how to make a super easy and awesome hair mask for dry or damaged hair.
Ingredients:
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Unrefined Coconut Oil
I used 2 parts coconut oil
1 parts extra virgin olive oil
You can adjust the measurements to your hair length and texture.
Just add in all the ingredients and mix.
I used a Mason Jar to store it and the mixture will last up to one week!

Seeing Orange

Orange lipstick has turned into the new classic red during New York Fashion Week this year. An unexpected twist considering in the past orange has been rarely seen on red carpets and fashion shows. I think it's perfect for spring and summer and it can look good on all skin tones. The pictures below display soft and bold orange lips from various events and shows.

My favorite orange lipsticks are:
NYX Butter Lipstick: Hot Tamale
MAC: Vegas Volt
Revlon: Siren

Men's Casual

Summer's quickly approaching, and in the Rio Grande Valley it can be hard to be fashionable and practical for the heat. With these three outfits I styled, I helped my boys out with this constant warm temperature dilemma.

The first outfit Ray J wears a casual gingham top with khaki shorts and sneakers for a casual beach look.

Keeping it casual the next outfit pairs a thin cotton button down with jeans and some moto boots, for a pop of different style.

The last outfit might be for a cooler summer day. A long sleeved plaid shirt paired with some nicer trouser pants turns casual when paired with a converse sneaker.

Iconic Eyes

From the runway to the sidewalk, colored mascara has always been one of my favorite trends. For me it's very reminiscent of the 80's, and like the 80's I love everything extremely colorful and ridiculous. Colored mascara has made recent appearances on runways of Paris Fashion Week with some prestigious designers like: Stella McCartney, Chanel, and Dries Van Noten. Here are some pictures I get inspiration from with bold mascara:

Beach Inspired Eyeshadow

Colored eyeshadow has been my favorite thing lately. So I decided to create a beach inspired eyeshadow look on my friend Stacey. It's super simple and it only takes for products to achieve this look!

Materials:

Stila: "In The Garden" eyeshadow palette
Wet n Wild: Blue Mega Liner
Real Techniques: eyeshadow brushes
Maybelline: Blue Great Lash mascara

Step 1: Apply the color "honey" or a yellow gold color all over the eyelid.
Step 2: With a blending brush, add the color "bark" or a forest green eyeshadow to the crease and blend it out.

Step 3: Add the color "freesia" or a cobalt blue under the waterline on the bottom lashes.

Step 4: Add blue mascara to the upper lashes, and the color "sage" or a mint color to the inner corner of the eye, and you're done!
